Graeme Barrow, local historian and author, will be speaker at our next monthly meeting to be held on Tuesday 7th February at 8pm.

Graeme will speak about the dreadful tragedy of the Ly-ee- Moon passenger steamer wrecked south of Eden in 1886 with the loss of 71 lives. He will talk about the colourful history of the ship herself, the night she sailed on to rocks below the Green Cape Lighthouse, and the drawn-out investigation into who was responsible. Graeme will also recount some of his adventures in trying to determine the correct names of some of those who died.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Many of our SIGs have meetings in the next few weeks. The SIGs are a wonderful opportunity to share your interests and a great resource for members.  SIGs are exclusively for our members and if you haven't yet had the opportunity to attend a SIG meeting, do go along.  All HAGSOC members are most welcome at any SIG.
